Are you a curious and collaborative scientist who thrives on bringing ideas to life? At Sensient, a global leader in colors, flavors, and extracts, our Application Scientists are the vital link between our innovative R&D and the real-world products our customers create. In this role, you won't just work in a lab; you'll partner directly with customers to understand their vision and solve their product development challenges.
You will be part of a dynamic team that transforms food, personal care, and pharmaceutical products. We are looking for a scientist who is ready to collaborate, innovate, and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
As an Application Scientist II, you will:
- Partner with Customers: Work side-by-side with clients in our labs and at their facilities to understand their goals and bring their product concepts to life.
- Develop Innovative Solutions: Apply your technical knowledge to solve formulation challenges, providing creative and effective solutions that align with customer needs across various industries.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Engage with our internal Flavor Creation, Innovation, and Sensory teams to ensure the solutions we deliver are not only technically sound but also market-ready and impactful.
- Drive Projects Forward: Manage application projects from initial concept through to customer presentation and launch, ensuring timelines and objectives are met with scientific rigor and attention to detail.
- Contribute Technical Expertise: Stay current with industry trends and ingredient technologies, and share your insights to help shape future product development directions.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- An advanced degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field, or a Bachelor's degree with significant relevant industry experience.
- Hands-on experience in an applications lab, preferably within the food, beverage, personal care, or pharmaceutical sectors. Experience with flavors, colors, or extracts is a strong plus.
- A proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to customers and cross-functional teams in a clear and actionable way.
