We are a New York City-based investment group with a proven track record in food, beverage, nutraceutical, and life sciences manufacturing. We are currently pursuing two parallel paths to enter the flavor industry: seeking a seasoned Flavorist to join us as an equity business partner, or acquiring an existing small flavor business from an owner preparing for retirement. (The flavor house for sale can be located anywhere in the United States.)
If you specialize in sweet beverage flavors—particularly for the functional, better-for-you, and botanical segments—we want to talk to you.
Why We Are Entering the Flavor Market Now
The global functional beverage market is experiencing explosive growth, driven by consumer demand for prebiotics, adaptogens, and plant-based botanicals. However, the biggest hurdle in this space is taste. Masking bitter off-notes while delivering a delicious, sweet profile requires true flavor artistry.
We have the capital, the manufacturing infrastructure, and the commercial network to scale a flavor house. What we lack is the creative palate of a master flavorist—and that is precisely why we are looking for you.
Who We Are: The Operating Partners
Our team brings a rare combination of financial and operational firepower:
- Investor Background: Our managing partner has evaluated dozens of flavor ingredient businesses and maintains deep relationships across the large flavor house networks.
- Engineering & Manufacturing: Our co-founder is an engineer by training with extensive experience in pharma business development and high-compliance manufacturing.
- Sales Leadership: We will personally lead all commercial sales efforts. Our goal is to keep you in the lab creating, while we handle the client relationships and revenue generation.
We are currently based in NYC and are establishing initial laboratory and compounding operations in North New Jersey, placing us at the epicenter of the East Coast food and beverage supply chain.
Our Operational Blueprint
We are pragmatic about how we scale. Our initial setup is designed for speed and capital efficiency:
- In-House Capabilities: We will secure lab space in New Jersey for R&D and small-batch liquid compounding.
- Outsourced Partnerships: Spray drying and large-scale dry blending will be outsourced initially to high-quality contract manufacturers.
- Flexible Production: We are also open to fully outsourced compounding in the early stages if that allows us to bring products to market faster.
- Team Structure: The core founding team will consist of the two of us, plus you (the Flavorist). As we grow, we will layer on application scientists, compounders, and lab technicians as needed.
The Two Opportunities We Are Offering
Option 1: Equity Business Partner (Flavorist)
Are you tired of working for a giant, slow-moving corporation? Do you want to own a piece of the business you are building? We are looking for a full-time (or high-commitment consultant) Flavorist to join as a co-founder. You will receive meaningful equity, creative control over the flavor library, and a direct stake in the company's success.
Option 2: Acquisition of an Existing Flavor Business
If you are the owner of a small to mid-sized flavor compounding company in the U.S. —particularly one specializing in liquids for beverages or nutraceuticals—and you are considering retirement or an exit, we are ready buyers. Our investment range is flexible, and we can structure a deal that ensures your legacy continues while providing you with a clean transition.
Ideal Candidate Profile (Partner) / Ideal Acquisition Target (Business)
- Expertise: Strong background in sweet flavors, emulsions, and beverage applications.
- Specialization: Experience with functional ingredients (botanicals, vitamins, minerals, protein) is a major plus.
- Location: While we are based in NYC/NJ, we are open to remote arrangements for the right Flavorist.
- Business Size (for acquisition): We are open to discussions with small houses.
