WFFC Opens Applications for Three $5,000 Scholarships for Women in Flavor and Fragrance
Thursday September 24, 2026 – Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce (WFFC) is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program, which awards three $5,000 scholarships to women pursuing education and careers in the flavor and fragrance industries.
The three scholarships are:
- WFFC Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship – Honors the legacy of Rita Flynn, a pioneering woman in the fragrance industry, by supporting women pursuing education and careers in the fragrance sector.
- WFFC Flavor Scholarship – Supports students preparing for careers in flavor science, food science, nutrition, chemistry, engineering, marketing, and related disciplines.
- WFFC She Works Scholarship – Recognizes women who are advancing their education while actively working in the flavor and fragrance industry.
Deadline and Notification
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2026. Recipients will be notified by Friday, December 16, 2026. Previous applicants who still meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply again.
Eligibility Requirements
For the Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship and the Flavor Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a woman currently enrolled or accepted at an accredited post-secondary institution
- Be enrolled or accepted in a program related to the flavor or fragrance industry (including business, chemistry, biology, engineering, marketing, nutrition, food science, microbiology, and Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing)
- Be a legal resident of the United States or the District of Columbia
For the She Works Scholarship, applicants must meet the above criteria and also be employed in the flavor and fragrance industry while simultaneously earning a degree or certificate.
About the Program
For more than four decades, WFFC has worked to educate, engage, and empower women in the flavor, fragrance, and related industries. The scholarship program invests directly in the next generation of industry leaders by removing financial barriers to education and recognizing women whose academic achievements, professional dedication, leadership potential, and passion for the industry demonstrate a commitment to advancing the field.
Past recipients have included undergraduate students, graduate researchers, and working professionals balancing employment with continued education.
How to Apply
Applicants will be asked to provide information about their education and industry involvement, career vision, leadership and community involvement, and a personal statement, along with responses to scholarship-specific questions. Required attachments include a transcript of completed coursework and a letter of recommendation from a professor, instructor, counselor, or workplace supervisor.
